Courses
and Institutions
The enormous range of educational
opportunities foundation courses, undergraduate
and postgraduate degrees and diplomas, and research
programmes available in the UK can sometimes
leave a prospective student confused. Consider the
following while choosing an institution that would
be best for you:
Do
the teaching and learning methods used on the
course suit you?
Can you afford or fund the tuition fee?
What are the opportunities for paid part-time
employment?
Does the campus location suit your temperament?
Does an urban location suit you or would you perform
better in a smaller, rural environment?
Will you be provided accommodation or will
you have to find your own?
What facilities library, computing,
careers, health and welfare, sports, etc
are provided?
Are the qualifications you will receive
recognised in the country you propose to work
in eventually?
Are the support services offered for the
welfare of international students adequate?
What opportunities are available for leisure
and travel entertainment, proximity to
places of interest, etc?

Part-time
Employment
Students are now allowed to work part-time up
to 20 hours a week during term and full-time during
vacations (which total approximately 14 weeks).
Weekly earnings are usually in the range of £4
-5 but increase with the number of hours put in.
Postgraduate students prefer to restrict their
part-time work to 10-15 hours a week, as their
